We are fans and regulars! I love the sesame chicken and the Lee's Summit Rolls. They have great Thai Ice tea and coffee. The staff is very nice and it is very prompt. Although, I do agree with a previous post about the atmosphere...extremely quiet. I almost felt I couldn't talk at all because everyone in the whole place was listening...turn up some music please :O)

The food here is excellent. I suggest that you order your meal to be a bit less spicy than you think you would like and then ask for the condiment tray so you can add heat to the level you desire. Be sure to try a soup. My mother does not like spicy food and yet, whenever she visits, this is the place she wants to go to eat. I suspect that this is because the owner always makes a fuss over her.

The service is outstanding, the food even better. Try the Lee's Summit spring rolls or the Thai spice noodles with shrimp and you'll see why this place is a five!

We decided to go here for dinner on Christmas night. What a treat!! First of all they brought us crab Rangoon on the house, because it was Christmas. There were 7 of us us so we ordered 2 of the appetizer sampler plates. With that you got crab Rangoon, spring rolls & egg rolls. Everyone enjoyed the spring rolls & egg rolls, the crab Rangoon was just so-so. Not our fav. I got the Thai cucumber salad, honestly, I would not get this again. My husband got the crab fried rice. He shared. yum!!! Incredible, I could have this every time!!! My daughter got the pad Thai w/shrimp hot, she loved it. My son had the chili chicken Thai hot, he loved it. Very spicy! The ambience was great. They had Hob Nob Merlot, which is one of my favorites. Will definitely go back!!

I'm really sad about this. The favors are great. But when I order their top dish of seafood, it should come from fresh, not frozen. It was terrible! My wife got the Pepper Beef and the meat was dry and tough. It was not cooked fresh. Robert Irvine would scream! We won't be going back

Having just moved away from the most amazing Thai food in FL (cooked for charity, by little old Thai ladies, at a Buddhist temple), my standards are pretty high. This place hits close to the mark, and makes be miss home a little less My girlfriend and I came in maybe 30 mins before closing, intending to get take out so we didnt bother the servers. Instead, they insisted we stay, and that it was no big deal. Attentive service, and food that was spiced straight from Thailand. When you ask for Thai hot here, they give it to you. My gf had the sesame chicken, and I had a curry, both of which were good. The sesame chicken, though, was awesome. Crunchy, spicy, sweet, perfect. I almost ate all of hers instead of mine. All in all, a fantastic place to do lunch in lees summit for a change of pace.

Hidden in a strip mall in Lee's Summit, this is a real treasure. I loved the variety on the menu - they offered a lot of choices I hadn't seen at other Thai places. I love the option of adding any protein also. I have the Ginger Delight with tofu ($9.95) and was brought a large dish with a plentiful amount of fresh veggies and tofu. The sauce was mild with a definite bite of ginger. My BF got the Cashew stirfry with tofu - I really liked the brown sauce and the large amount of cashews. The service was attentive. The Thai ice tea was strong and sweet. Overall, I'm really glad we gave this place a try and I look forward to returning to try other dishes.

I just moved to the lees summit area. This is an awesome Thai restaurant. Give my favs in San Diego a run. The portions are good sized and the prices are good for what you get. The food is a perfect balance of those warm spices and the sweet notes of really good authentic Thai food. The Panang Curry and Cashew Nut Tofu are yummy! And the fresh spring rolls are nice and refreshing. Take a chance like I did and open that door!!!

  • Rachel E.

Love this place! I grab their fresh spring rolls probably 2 times a week. Their green curry with tofu is a MUST try and the basil seafood is FAB! Oder anything on the menu, you will love it! Oh, and the prices... you will love the prices!

I had to work out of the Lee's Summit office for approximately 2 weeks. During that time I ate at Thai Spice approximately 4 times. Now that I am back in my other office I am sad that Thai Spice is so far away :( I had the drunken noodles each time with a different protein. I liked the tofu the best. I enjoy quite a bit of spice and the medium is just right for me. I went with the thai spice once and it burnt my lips (I still ate it). I ate in 2 of the times I went and it was very cute and intimate. Little crappy if you are a single diner, because you get put in the very back by the server station, bathrooms, and kitchen. This is still not enough to keep me away! If you like Thai food and are on a budget this place is 2 thumbs up great!

Nice cozy place. The smooth jazz on the radio, and the daytime soaps on TV only add to its awesomeness. I totally forgot what I had, but ate it like a ravenous inmate. The hot and sour soup was good previous to the food, and the plating was fun. Win!

It's in a strip mall, and the decor is less-than-inspiring, but if you live or work in the area, it's a great choice for Thai. By food alone (and if you don't care about the super pedestrian wine and beer list), it's just as good as anywhere else I've been. The pad thai is a great choice for the less adventurous, while the drunken noodles are also very good. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Thai curry, and both the red and green curries are excellent. I haven't noticed any blandness, but I always order my spice level at 'hot' (not 'Thai hot'). The crab rangoon is excellent as well. It's not fancy, but after several trips here, I have absolutely no complaints about the food.

After a weekend of camping and a six hour drive, this food was exactly what we needed. The fried tofu appetizers were generously portioned. The spicy Thai noodles with tofu had plenty of fresh basil and a sweet sauce. The Tom Yum was chunky, and a large bowl was enough for five of us. The Massaman curry was the favorite, though. It was delicately seasoned and really just perfect. The service was spotty to the point that it seemed deliberate. There were very few other tables, so I have to assume there were behind the scenes problems or that our server didn't really work there and had just lost a bet.

I love eating at Thai Spice! My mom and I rave about this place. I usually order Mushroom and baby corn with tofu off the lunch menu, and Black soy sauce noodles with tofu off of the dinner menu. I order all my dishes hot spicy, and they cook all the dishes with the right amount of heat. When you order off the lunch menu, you receive a side soup and 2 crab rangoons. Thai Spice is also very generous with their portions. I usually end up bringing food home.

I go to lunch here a few times a week, often take-out. Food is consisitantly great (the red curry chicken is WONDERFUL) and their crab rangoon's are awesome.

You absolutely must try their Iced Coffee. Best iced coffee I have ever had, and I don't easily give out coffee compliments. Sadly the iced coffee did not come with free refills; I could have easily downed at least 10. Beautiful decorations, fast service, and delicious food all reasonably priced. Even though there were at least 3 couples dining, the atmosphere was extremely quiet. I felt like I had to whisper because no one was making a peep. This could be a pro or a con depending on who you're with for your meal. Thai Spice provides a great setting for a date. In conclusion: Get the iced coffee!! It should be on everyone's bucket list of things to drink before you die.

What a great find! We've eaten lots of Thai food and this was some of the best. The chili chicken was awesome - nice and spicy and very satisfying. Our one year old loved the dark soy sauce noodles. The service was outstanding as well.

Ate here for the first time tonight. I must say one od the best thai places I've been too. Way better than the Thai place!

I have visited Thai Spice on several occasions. The first time was fabulous! The second time, food was good, service not so much. The next visit, the wrong order was served, took incredibly long to have corrected, and the service was AWFUL! There aren't many Thai options around work, so the office crew decided to give carry out a whirl. We were told complimentary soup and appetizer are for dine in only, though their menu and website do not specify that. Fine, not a big deal..until they upcharged when we picked up without explaining. The difference wasn't a big deal, though their attitude was. The man told me I was arguing too much, which is why they gave the soup. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the damn soup! I do not care to have somehting I did not receive, nor want charged to me though. We most definitely will not be returning!

Came here for a weekday lunch. The staff were friendly, service was quick. The soup of the day was really good. The spicy Thai fried rice was very good - not too greasy, not too spicy and flavorful.

Okay, I've eaten Thai in and around the KC area, and Thai Spice fits the bill for me. I've been several times and ordered several items off of their overwhelmingly large menu. The service is always prompt, friendly, and efficient. They are quick to recommend something to the unfamiliar (me!), and the recommendations are always spot on! Every dish is fresh, prepared in house, and uses ripe, FRESH ingredients. God it's good. My favorite dish is the Panana Curry with tofu. They bring out a lil condiment tray to help you make it as hot as you want, which is perfect for a hot-freak like me. Another dish you have to try is the mango sticky rice. My date didn't rant and rave quite as much as I did, but I cleared both my meal plate and dessert plate, and wanted MORE. Oh my god. The mango dessert rendered me speechless. Seriously folks, I don't get speechless; it was that good. The meal, mango dessert and tip topped me out at about $25, which is a lot for this poo' college student. Honestly though, it was worth every friggin' dime. I will be back, again and again.

We decided just to find somewhere "different" to eat today, so we ended up here, just because that's where we were. We were impressed as soon as we walked in because the place is decorated nicely, very clean and we were greeted and seated right away. We kind of had two servers taking care of us and they were perfect. They timed everything great and were very friendly, but didn't over do it. I don't have much experience with Thai food, so we decided to share an appetizer sampler and a chicken entree (Triple Chicken maybe). We were a little nervous about spiciness, so ordered it "not spicy" next time, I would add a little spice. We loved the appetizers the most. The Spring Roll was our favorite, but the crab rangoon and other roll were great too.

  • Jim H.

Yum....but, While I have to say that the food and service were really good, my only real gripe was the cleanliness of the bathroom. The men's room was dirty, while this may not weird for some people out, I always wonder if the bathroom cleanliness is indicative of the kitchen's cleanliness?

I devoured this Chicken Pad Thai like it was going to be my last meal. The spice it was incredible, my sinus said thank you may I have another after each bite. The serving size was perfect. The price for lunch is phenomenal. I would recommend this place to my sister's uncle brother cousin.

I agree with Tiger, San Fran has the best Thai cuisine. But how stoked am I that I don't have to hike my ass down to Westport or Blue Springs to get really good Thai food anymore? Order the Thai iced tea. SERIOUSLY. It's the best I've ever had, has some sort of a smokey-like flavor and I'm always hacked that it's mostly ice and no free refills. They finally brought in a lunch menu that consists of everything on the dinner menu except it's 5 bucks cheaper and you get crab ragoon as a bonus (which are really good, they're light and crisp not thick and greasy like the Chinese). I always like to start with the spring rolls...they're good--standard--I would say. They use the sweet and sour vinaigrette for dipping opposed to the peanut sauce, which is what I like. But you didn't ask. I have tried all their curries and every single one is phenom. The yellow being my favorite; with potatoes, carrots, and Thai basil. Service is fast and friendly and the only request I ever have to make is 'more cilantro please'. And this place caters and delivers! I would be your friend for life if you had Thai at your open house, birthday, shower, whathaveyou opposed to dime-sized sandwiches and veg trays. Just sayin'.

Don't let the location of this place fool you. It's tucked away in the strip mall but the food is worthy. They are very friendly and if you like Thai food, you won't be disappointed.

This place is located in a small strip mall, it is a small restaurant, but the food served here is awesome. Went there after visiting "Christmas in the Park". I ordered "Tofu Jungle Curry". Wow!! It was really good. My wife ordered Pad Thai, it was also good. Would love to go back again.

I am a typical Missouri native when it comes to trying something different. After over 50 years I finally try Thai food. Well, if all Thai food is as good as this was then I have to admit that I have missed out on something very special. The combinations of seasonings are what one of my fellow diners called "artistic". I had the Chicken Trio choice off of the Lunch Special card. It came with a fantastic "house salad" with a sweet and sour dressing, sliced carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and ground peanuts. The meal itself was big and I am a big eater. The chicken was thinly sliced in a fantastic sauce that I cannot really describe. Mixed in with the chicken was raisins, cashews and green onions. Even the big scoop of steamed rice on the side was perfect. The meal also included two perfectly prepared rangoons. My water ice-water had a fresh wedge of lime in it which was surprisingly tasty. All this for $8.95. Service was friendly and professional, atmosphere was great with soft jazz music, seating was very comfortable and parking was a breeze. They have a new fan. I should have tried them earlier. In this case being stubborn was my loss.

I've dine at this restaurant and also had take out on one occasion. The food is just alright..and I've had better. The "Hot" dishes are not spicey at all, and i would consider it to be more mild than hot. This merchant needs to update their website. At the very top in large/bold lettering says "We Now offer free delivery with a minimum order of $25 or more :) 816.347.9859 delivery within limited area zipcode 64086,64064,64063,64081. Delivery fee charges varies according to distant and time to areas that are not covered in the above mention zip codes. please allow for minimum 30-45 min for delivery Thank You :)" Well - when we called in to place and order to have it delivered, we were told that they NO longer make deliveries. What a disappointment...

I have visited Thai Spice once. And only once. I ordered their Pad Thai. I'm an afficionado when it comes to Pad Thai. I used to live near Seattle and some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had comes out of that place. Also, I make my own authentic Pad Thai at home so I know what good Pad Thai should taste like. So, I tried the Pad Thai at Thai Spice. I found it bland (had to add salt to it which you should never have to do), dry and tasteless. The portion size was a bit small and the price a bit too much. Is it just me? A lot of people rave about this place. Sorry, I went there and the Pad Thai was a big disappointment for me. Maybe they've improved it since then. But, I only give a place one chance usually. Go at your own risk.

  • Monte W.

I live near here and have now eaten there twice. As a fan or getting things as spicy as I want, I generally love Thai food. This locale doesn't make "Thai hot" as hot as other places, but they give you the condiments to blaze your mouth as much as you like when the food comes. We had Basil Stir Fry and some soup (I forget the name, but it was broth based and delicious!). Service was excellent, and the place was really clean. It was not busy at all, but we went at an off-peak time. Food was delicious, and we will definitely be back!

First of all we're in Missouri, so let's base it on our experiences here. This place ranks up there in the top of Thai in my opinion. They've always been super friendly, fair-priced and quick to make my orders for pick up. The inside is calming and comfortable as well. I place many to-go orders, but I'm always greeted and given water, and sometimes chicken/rice soup while I wait. I have nothing but good things to say about Thai Spice. It's wonderful!!

    (5)

I had lunch at Thai Spice today. The staff were very friendly, restaurant was clean, I had my food within five minutes (I got the basil fried rice), and it tasted wonderful. Will definitely be going back.

The Best and Healthiest place to eat around!! Love to pop in and grab an order of spring rolls to go for lunch!! Love the people, Love the food. My kids love it too.

The food just ok, not exceptional, I am sure I had better somewhere else . The curry was a bit on the sweet side. The service was friendly and helpful though.

  • Leslie S.

My new fave! Quality/quantity/price perfection. Drunken noodles are my go to and they did not disappoint! Yellow curry was the best I have ever had. Very good but I would like a bit more rice with it next time. YUM.

  • Kai C.

I was in the area and craving Thai food. The place is clean, had nice decor, and nice waitresses. I'm very picky about my Thai food, because I usually make better at home. (I'm half Thai) But this little place surprised me! I usually order Lad Nah dish, but sadly they didn't have that on the menu. So I went with chicken pad see ew, 2 tiger beef salads, chili chicken, and thai tea. The pad see ew is ok. Not the best I've had. It was lacking in flavor. Too bland for me.. BUT, everything else that I ordered was delicious! Tiger beef salad had plenty of beef on it. The flavors were perfect! I wanted to order a third one! Chili chicken had all the right spices. And they give you a big portions! The thai tea was a little small. 4 sips and it was gone. I had to order two. I would suggest to order it with no ice. Overall, I like this place! A thai gem in Lee's Summit! I would definitely go back!

Had the Yellow Curry Seafood medium hot and I would be able to eat it everyday. Flavorful, wonderful and outstanding service. Everything on the menu looks great but my server told me it was her favorite and I agree as it is now mine also. The strip mall is kind of disconcerting but the restaurant is the hidden gem. Place has constant traffic and carry out orders. I will be back next time my travels bring me here.

Delicious!!! I will definitely be a repeat customer! Good customer service, good variety on the menu, nice sized restaurant.

  • Sarah S.

The food was good enough for a quick lunch, I guess. I found it all pretty bland. We got red curry pork, it smelled amazing, but then it was really pretty flavorless. And the fresh rolls were inedible, instead of a single rice paper wrapper it was covered with like 4 or 5 layers making it gummy and thick. The vermicelli inside was brown, and so was the lettuce. They were extremely unfresh. The crab rangoons are really sweet, my husband liked them, but I did not. The fish sauce to dip them in was really good though. And the fried egg rolls were good. Although they advertise Singha and Tsing Tao beers, they had neither, leaving us with an option of Bud, Bud Light, or Michelob Ultra, yuck!

I've never been a huge fan of Asian cuisine (too many veggies) but my fiancee loves it. She used to go to a Thai place in Wichita and hasn't had it since we moved to KC. A review for Thai Spice appeared recently and I took notice. Last night, I surprised her and took her here. The decor was very classy and upscale, but still casual. Nice classical piano playing on the overhead speakers. We were sat down immediately and ordered a couple of sodas. We ordered the Crab Rangoon and Tiger Cry Beef for appetizers. I don't eat crab rangoon, but I tried it, at the fiancee's behest. It was both meaty and sweet, which I'm not used to. I think they use real crab meat, not imitation. The Tiger Cry Beef was incredible! The sauce was quite spicy, but the meat was excellent even without the sauce. I ordered the Garlic and Pepper pork and she ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. The meat was delicious. I enjoyed my meal. My fiancee also enjoyed her pad thai. The service was friendly and quick. The food came out very quickly. Bill was a touch on the high end for us, as we prefer cheaper meals, but ordering 2 appetizers will ring you up a bit. We have no complaints about the place. Take a visit yourself. We will likely come back when we get the Thai craving.

This place has become a hit or miss lately. Most importantly the food is always the hit, service is sometimes a miss. When walking in first impressions are good the place is clean. Food is always fresh, fast, and delicious. It's a great Thai place in the area and I would even travel to come here. You can never go wrong with the Pad Thai, it a huge portion as well. Everything that we've ever ordered has been delicious too.

I love this place. The food makes me happy to be living in missouri First time ever came here I got curry ,my buddy got beef noodle soup, his GF got curry . All were excellent The best thing I've had here is beef noodle soup. It is just so impressive. If you are a newbie it tastes like cross between an Asian soup and hearty home made beef stew. It's special . Service is excellent!!!!!

Traveling through KC on 70 I noticed the great Yelp reviews and decided to stop here. This place is amazing! Friendly service and delicious food! I tried their fresh spring rolls and asked for peanut sauce. Delicious. I are the Panang Curry with chicken for my lunch and it was amazing. Delicious fresh vegetables and coconut milk curry broth. Eat this dish with YOUR spoon! You'll want to lick the bowl it's that good!

We love, Love, L-O-V-E Thai Spice. Best crab rangoon I have ever had. The crust is light and flaky so you can really taste the filling. I always have a hard time deciding between the honeymoon chicken, Chili Chicken or the Pad Thai. All are amazing!

  • Andrea P.

This place was a little hard to find. It sits in a strip mall off Douglas and behind a Taco Bell. The decor is fine. The music was a weird mix of classical and 80's type saxophone. The food was good. Not fantastic but we will be back. We had the appetizer sampler. It was quite good. I had the chicken larb and the galanga soup. Both were very tasty but I would have liked them to have been spicier. He had the seafood yellow curry. He enjoyed it with the large pieces of seafood and perfectly cooked squid. I thought the seafood was cooked perfect - not to rubbery bits - but the curry itself was a bit too sweet for my taste. We love thai food and have tried many restaurants. This isn't near the top of the list but it is decent and the service was very good. Not bad for Lee's Summit - the center of all things chain restaurant.

    (4)
  • Jen P.

I try to support non-chain restaurants in Lee's Summit because there aren't enough! This one has been around for quite some time and there's a reason! I visit here all the time and the food and service are both great and fast. I've enjoyed the red curry chicken, spring rolls, tiger cry beef and the phad thai just to name a few. All were delicious and you can chose your level of spice. Still trying to get the courage to try thai hot!

  • Donna Y.

By far, one of my favorite locations for Asian cuisine. Thai Spice sits inside of a strip mall and upon first glance you may not think much of it. I cannot begin to tell you that in this case, what you see is not what you get. It is easy to forget you are sitting in a strip mall. The service is phenomenal. The servers sneak in and ouy of your space with little detection. They are eager to make your experience go well. The Thai tea is outstanding...you must try it. The crab rangoon are light and flaky, a melt in your mouth experience that is tasty. My favorite dish is the spicy green bean with chicken. Give it a try...you will be pleasantly surprised.

    (5)
  • Rhonda S.

Bland, but I'll probably eat there again. I could've ordered something with more taste, so the bland is my fault. I asked for mild spices, but didn't expect no spice. I ordered the eggplant with chicken. But I saw a yummier entree pass by me. It looked to be orange chicken, or something close to that. The man in the next booth asked the waitress what the dish was, but I didn't catch it. My entree was huge, and I have enough for a second meal. The white rice was on the small serving size. It was just okay. I ordered crab ragoon, and loved the presentation. I will return just to order the crab ragoon again. I thought the prices were a bit high, higher than I'd normally spend. There's better entrees, and I'm in Lee's summit enough, the 3 stars might change to 4. But for now, it's a bit boring.

I am not sure why I did not try this place sooner other than I always forgot about it. A few days ago that changed when family was out of town and I was looking for dinner. Usually the first time I eat at a Thai place I will order Pad Thai, if they can not do that well I will not be back. i did order the Pad Thai medium hot (testing the heat levels, will be hot next time) and fried dumplings and both were very good. The service was good and fast. Will try again very soon.

Wonderful. I love the tumeric rice dish, the crab rangoon, and the fresh spring rolls. I have been here many times and everyone I am with loves it also.

  • Eunice A.

I got the Crispy Island Pork and it is amazing! I had to ask for extra rice because I guess my goal for the night is to finish the entire dish (which is big enough for two people). My fiancé had the green curry and the spices and flavor were just right. We may have found our new go-to Thai restaurant

    (5)
  • Courtney R.

This is our favorite Thai food in the greater KC area! We've eaten here often over the last 4 years. The soft spring rolls for appetizer are delicious, lunch soup is very flavorful, chicken dishes are excellent..so much so that my husband has a hard time choosing a favorite. The drunken noodles are my favorite, yum!! The food here is fresh and excellent and always comes out hot (temperature). The flavors are masterful. My husband lived in China and says the Thai food there was wonderful (due to the nearby location to Thailand) and that this is the best Thai he has had in the states since China! A true Lee's Summit gem!

Standard above average Thai food. Like the fact they use no MSG. Few, but still some vegetarian options. Service is always good and prices are reasonable for hot fresh food.

Awesome. Once again. Always is. Had the Thai spice noodles with tofu. Pretty good. And of course those amazing spring rolls.

Usually great food but ordered takeout last night and it was awful. Curry beef was tough, stringy and loaded with gristle. Crab Rangoon though cold still ok, satay chicken sticks, tough as the beef, cats enjoyed it but we didn't. Will think twice before getting takeout there again.

I ended up at Thai Spice tonight by utter happenstance, versus by plan, but, hey, happy accident! We were trying to make a 7:10 movie, and Waldo Pizza had too long a wait, and then I remembered that there was this little Thai place tucked way back off the street in a strip mall, and thought it might be good to try. While I'd never label myself a Thai food aficionado, I've had it enough to know what I like, and from some tasty places, and I was game to see how it measured up. My expectations for atmosphere were low...blase strip mall, right? But, when you walk it, it's nicely appointed...nice low lighting, but not the kind of low lighting that's meant to conceal, well, grunginess. The place was spotless, and nicely decorated with lots of photographs and art from Thailand (I assume). It's small and narrow, most tables are small, so big group probably wouldn't do well, here. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. There is a bar, and the tone is quiet, but not overwhelmingly so...there was ambient music on, and it was actually pretty nice to be in a place that wasn't stuffed to the gills with loud chatter on a Friday night. There were quite a few other diners, but it was still a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is pretty massive, for such a small place with a presumably small kitchen...I went, after much deliberation, with the Bangkok Platter, which was meat of your choice (all their entrees are meat/tofu of your choice, and priced differentially according to what meat/tofu you order) sauteed in peanut sauce, served on a load of steamed veggies and jasmine rice. Boyfriend got one of the fried rice dishes, extra spicy. The food was delicious, although I think next time, I'll go with something with a bit more kick. I had Thai iced tea, with the sweetened condensed milk, which was delicious. The price was on par with, say Applebee's, but a ton of food. It also tasted light and healthy. I notice their menu notes no MSG, and the veggies are typically steamed and dishes include LOTS of 'em. I got tofu in lieu of meat, and it was a little skimpy, but delicious. We got crab rangoon (inauthentic, I know, big deal), and it was probably the LEAST greasy and most crabby-tasting I've had in ages. I know it was imitation crab, but at least it wasn't cream cheese with a hint of crab, like so many. Very garlicky, nice chili oil dipping sauce, and small enough to be a real appetizer, not a meal-spoiler.

First time here and I can't wait to go back. Wasn't expecting it to be packed..pretty popular place it seems. Excited to go back and try more, especially the purple ice cream! The location might seem a bit out of place for such a nice, clean restaurant. My recommendation would be to start with the medium or regular spicy. My friend got the Thai Spicy and as delicious as it was definitely not for the weak at heart. Check it out and decide for yourself, you won't regret it. They have great lunch specials too!

We came on a Thursday night and by 6 pm this place was really busy, which is always a good sign. This thai food was about $3-$4 cheaper per a dish than the other thai restaurants I've been too in the Kc area. And let me say, it was delicious. We had pad thai, drunken noodles, Bangkok platter; all were fantastic! A friend went with us and she very literally hates everything beyond easy Mac and cheeseburgers (I wish this was an exaggeration) she wanted something bland so they gave her the royal rice. And man was it bland (exactly what she wanted but not of interest to me). But if you are less adventurous it was like fried rice. I wish they had a location up north, but maybe next week I'll drive down to lees summit again just to get some pad thai.

Cucumber salad is great, Pineapple fried rice is extra good, Chicken.KCMO.Thai extra spicy was very tasty! We also had their appetizer sampler which was also very good. Nothing but good to say about the food, the hot tea wasn't very good but I like green tea. Try this place if you get a chance.

Very solid place. Decent prices. Great food. Cozy environment. The one downside is that service is usually pretty slow, not bad, just really slow.

This place is a winner on many fronts. The staff is friendly and courteous, with service that clicks like a well-oiled machine. We never go waiting for anything and food arrives promptly every time. The food itself is always amazing--we order the curry, pad thai and basal chicken fried rice and are consistently impressed at how we've never had a bad experience here (and we've been over 20 times!).

The service was fantastic without having them hover at the table. My wife and daughter had never had Thai before so they were very excited. We ordered the Chili Chicken, Pad Thai, and Spicy Basil Fried Rice. The Chili Chicken I thought was by far the best dish, it was very flavorful and had a nice spicy kick to it. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice was a pretty standard fried rice dish I think you could get almost anywhere and was not very hot at all (we fixed this with the use of the hot sauce and peppers they provided). The Pad Thai looked like a standard Pad Thai dish and was a great selection for my wife's first Thai dish. Given it was lunch and we ordered two waters and an iced tea with our meals I would say this is kind of pricey. When we are in Lee's Summit we would definitely give Thai Spice another try and sample some of the other menu selections.

Yes, Thai Spice hovers on the bland side, I've seen that in the reviews and I agree. The decor somehow exactly what you'd expect if you'd been to a dozen other Lee's Summit restaurants, I'm not sure what it is about Lee's Summit and restaurant decor but they're all pretty much the same. BUT WAIT! I don't want to beat up on Thai Spice. As of today, I am the Yelp duke of Thai Spice, my girlfriend (the Lee's Summit resident responsible for me being in Lee's Summit to begin with) regularly threatens to introduce me as her boyfriend, the Duke of Thai Spice. The food is totally acceptable, we've never had a bad experience, and the closest Thai competitor is close to twenty minutes away in Blue Springs, OP, or Downtown.

My parents eat here once a week and a trip to Lee's Summit now almost always includes a stop here. The first time I visited, I had the cucumber salad. I know have longing dreams about this salad. It's light and fresh (depending on when it was made, marinade sometimes make for soft veggies) and I love it. In fact, everything I've had has been fresh. The spring rolls, the drunken noodles, the rice with mango....this is just a really good Thai restaurant.

This was our first visit to Thai Spice. I think I've only had Thai food once before, so this was a new experience. Upon arrival for dinner we ordered the sampler appetizer. It had 4 crab rangoon, 2 egg rolls split and 2 spring rolls. The spring rolls were my favorite. Very light. A perfect appetizer in my mind. My wife loved the crab rangoon which were excellent as well. The egg rolls were very good, but my least favorite of the three. My wife ordered the honeymoon chicken and I got a noodle dish (I've already forgotten the name). We both ordered them hot (Thai hot is the step hotter) and that was plenty hot. In fact I might get medium next time. Don't get me wrong, it was a good heat. We both loved our orders. Mine had a combination of a wonderful broth, noodles, chicken and vegetables. My wife's was chicken, a side or rice and vegetables. I'd liken my wife's to an orange chicken...but so much better. The reason I didn't give the visit 5 stars was two-fold. First, while the service was good, we were waited on by two different people with no real rhyme or reason why each stopped by. It was weird. Second, I feel like they aren't sure what to do with the inside. The decor isn't great and there are two TVs, one in a random place. I don't think they need the TVs and if they are going to charge what they charge, use it to make the place feel nicer. It just doesn't have the $15 a plate feel (but the food is well worth it). We will definitely be back. I'm glad we branched out and tried Thai.

We love, Love, L-O-V-E Thai Spice. Best crab rangoon I have ever had. The crust is light and flaky so you can really taste the filling. I always have a hard time deciding between the honeymoon chicken, Chili Chicken or the Pad Thai. All are amazing!

I got the Crispy Island Pork and it is amazing! I had to ask for extra rice because I guess my goal for the night is to finish the entire dish (which is big enough for two people). My fiancé had the green curry and the spices and flavor were just right. We may have found our new go-to Thai restaurant

Awesome. Once again. Always is. Had the Thai spice noodles with tofu. Pretty good. And of course those amazing spring rolls.

Love this place! I grab their fresh spring rolls probably 2 times a week. Their green curry with tofu is a MUST try and the basil seafood is FAB! Oder anything on the menu, you will love it! Oh, and the prices... you will love the prices!
